VCS representatives in Newcastle

Representatives are members of the voluntary and community sector (VCS) who help to inform and influence the development of strategy and delivery on the key multi-sector partnerships in the city.  Listed below are VCS representatives on Newcastle's five key partnerships.  It is worth noting that the partnerships tend to set up sub-groups to lead on particular priorities or functions and so the list below is only a small number of the total VCS representatives involved.  If you have an issue, feedback or question, please share them with the relevant rep so they can better represent the view of the sector as a whole.  To contact any of the VCS representatives first get in touch with Newcastle CVS policy officers This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.  What is a VCS representative?

VCS representatives are there to make sure the views of the sector are heard and represented at strategic meetings.  All of the reps carry out their work in addition to their organisation roles.  Reps are from all backgrounds and experience and anyone has the potential to be a good representative.  The responsibilities of reps include attending strategic meetings, making their contact details available, attending network meetings and providing reports and feedback from the meetings they attend.  The role and expectations are described in more detail in our in Information for Newcastle Partnership VCS representatives 2010

Newcastle CVS support for representatives

We work to support VCS representatives to carry out their role to benefit the VCS and the partners we work with. The support we can offer to representatives includes

  • induction training
  • one-to-one briefing sessions before and after meetings
  • access to VCS views through forums and networks
  • VCS representative feedback forms

Reps reports

One of the simplest ways for representatives to keep the wider voluntary and community sector informed about what is happening in the partnerships they attend is to use our rep feedback form. We ask all VCS representatives to complete and return a feedback form, which we then make available here on our website. Check regularly to stay up to date with partnership activity in the city

Please note that the list of VCS representatives above is of those who are reps to the primary partnership boards but here is where you’ll find reports from representatives across all partnerships groups in Newcastle where Newcastle CVS provide support.
