|Our regional work|
We at Newcastle CVS take our role within the region seriously. We are a member of VONNE (Voluntary Organisations' Network North East) and contribute to their initiatives and policy discussions. We are a member of the Pentagon Partnership and are represented on the board. We are also members of FINE (Funding Information North East) and Sally Young, our chief executive, is on the steering group.
A number of Newcastle-based organisations work across several local authority areas, so it is important to know what is going on in our region.
We work in partnership with our colleagues in other councils for voluntary service/local development agencies and we sometimes work on joint projects, as well as sharing information.
Newcastle CVS is a member of NAVCA (National Association for Voluntary and Community Action) and NCVO (National Council for Voluntary Organisations) because we recognise their role in national lobbying and strategic work on behalf of our sector. We also value the quality of their support to organisations like ourselves.
Newcastle CVS Chief Executive is now part of the North East Members Assembly of NCVO. This meets bi-annually to discuss and debate key topics for the voluntary and community sector and helps to inform NCVO thinking and future work.
