Regular information service

NCVS sends out information to its members, and others interested in, working with or promoting the voluntary and community sector in Newcastle.

The schedule

NCVS inform - this quarterly newsletter provides information for the voluntary and community sector in Newcastle on local, regional and national issues.  Articles regarding events and activities organised by other organisations are not normally included.  It is posted to NCVS members as well as being available on this website.

Funding - this monthly newsletter gives details of new funding opportunities and events.  It is distributed mainly by email and is also available on this website.

NCVS e-inform - this weekly e-bulletin is sent to all NCVS members and others who work in, and with, the voluntary and community sector in Newcastle.  It is only distributed by email but is also available on this website.  Email is the most economical way for us to circulate information to large numbers of recipients and it ensures that the information is distributed quickly and promptly.

Helping others communicate with the voluntary sector

NCVS e-inform (weekly e-bulletin)

Information may be included in this e-bulletin at the request of other organisations provided that:

  • NCVS agrees that the information will be of use or interest to NCVS members and others for whom this e-bulletin is intended

  • an introductory statement of no more than two sentences is provided

  • any related document can be made available via a link to a website (NCVS e-inform does not include attachments)

The Information Section is responsible for editorial control of NCVS e-inform and will consult with the Chief Executive or other relevant staff if there are any concerns about the inclusion of information at the request of an outside organisation.  Material which in our opinion is not sufficiently relevant to its target audience, is capable of giving offence or is a link to the newsletter of another organisation will not be included.  For further information please phone Deborah Hall on 0191 232 7445 or email her.

ncvs inform (quarterly newsletter) insert service

We offer an insert service in our quarterly newsletter, ncvs inform, to any voluntary, community or statutory organisation, as long as the material is relevant to the voluntary and community sector in Newcastle.  This will help you circulate your material to local organisations.  We will only circulate material from private sector organisations, trainers or consultants if it is of direct benefit to voluntary and community organisations and if agreed by the Chief Executive.  We cannot be seen to be endorsing particular companies or individuals.

We have a sliding scale of charges as follows

£30     Newcastle CVS members

£50     Voluntary and community organisations who are not Newcastle CVS members

£80     Public sector organisations

Trainers and consultants that work with the voluntary sector

Private sector organisations offering reduced rate services to the voluntary sector

£100   Private sector organisations

The prices include administration time, envelopes, labels and postage.

How to use the insert service

  1. Send us a single copy of your insert for approval.  We reserve the right to refuse material for any reason, so do not send multiple copies until we've confirmed your booking

  2. We will confirm that we can include your insert along with the price, the quantity needed to circulate with ncvs inform and the deadline for receiving these copies

  3. Send us the multiple copies by the date agreed

  4. We will distribute your material and invoice you

We will take a maximum of six inserts in each issue so including flyers will be at the discretion of Newcastle CVS.

Mailing labels

To enable voluntary and statutory sector organisations, trainers, consultants and others working with the voluntary sector in Newcastle, to post their own material to NCVS members, NCVS can supply a set of printed mailing labels.  There is a charge of £25 for this service.

To purchase a set of labels please speak to Judith Temple or Jaz Nagra by phone on 0191 232 7445.

In line with our Data Protection policy, NCVS will not provide the email addresses of its members to any organisation for any reason.

Please note that publications, events and services mentioned, advertised or included as inserts in ncvs inform and ncvs e-inform are not necessarily endorsed by Newcastle CVS.
