Newcastle CVS offers a range of advice, support, information and training to help voluntary and community groups explore the different funding opportunities open to them and make successful funding applications.

Advice and support

Our supporting and developing officer for funding, Louise McGlen, gives advice and support free of charge to voluntary organisations and community groups working in Newcastle.  This includes

• planning for successful fundraising 
• identifying possible sources of funding
• preparing fundable applications
• developing and discussing funding strategies
• commenting on and helping with draft applications (however this does not include writing them)
• identifying and monitoring outcomes in a straightforward way
• exploring the best way of improving your organisation's financial sustainability

We offer this support either at a face to face meeting, by phone and/or by email.  We have good relationships with north east funders and we can also help you review applications that have been unsuccessful or help clarify any issues or problems that crop up.  You can contact Louise by This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. • information sheets on a wide range of topics

Training

We can also help you develop your organisation's funding strategy and your fundraising skills through a range of workshops including

• preparing to fundraise
• identifying meaningful outcomes
• writing better funding applications
• sustainable fundraising
• monitoring methods

There is a sliding scale of charges for training.  We can also provide customised training on any issue related to fundraising.  For more information about either of these please visit our training pages.
