New online database of Newcastle's VCOs launched
Wednesday, 02 November 2011 16:40

We're delighted to launch today Newcastle's online database of charities and voluntary and community organisations (VCOs). The database allows you to search for organisations by name, the services they provide, the area of Newcastle they work in and the client groups they work with. You can start your searches directly on the online database or find out more on our website.

We think it will be a great benefit to our members, to the public and to other organisations working with the voluntary and community organisations such as commissioners. We think it will

  • help people in Newcastle find VCOs to support by giving time and/or money
  • help people in Newcastle find local VCOs to help them
  • help you find other VCOs near you or doing similar work so you can work together
  • help public sector and other organisations to find VCOs to work with or commission to deliver services

And, soon, we'll be adding two new features to the online database – searches for venues and meeting rooms, and voluntary and community sector support. We'll contact our members soon to gather this information.

The database lists all our members and will grow as our membership grows. If you're not included in the database and would like to be, simply become a member – it's free and you'll also get access to all our support services. You can find out more about becoming a member and the benefits of membership on our website.
